Indian Moon Carrot is an annual herb, 15-30 cm tall,
velvet-hairy. Leaves are double compound; segments ovate. Involucre of
5 linear velvet-hairy bracts, about cm long.
Umbels are 8-25-rayed, leaf opposed; umbelets are 10-15-flowered;
fringed with hairs; Involucel of 5-8 linear bractlets, 5-6 mm long.
Sepal-cup teeth are minute. Fruit is about 2 mm long, bristly; ridges
prominent. Indian Moon Carrot is found in the Indian Subcontinent to
Myanmar.
Medicinal uses: Plant and fruits are
stimulant, stomachic, anthelmintic, vermifuge, for expelling
roundworms. Veterinary medicine, seeds carminative used as cattle
medicine.
